Introduction
Welcome to the Team

These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") govern your employment, engagement, and participation as a staff member of Laikan Media ("the Company"). By accepting a staff account, you agree to be bound by these terms in full. Please read carefully before proceeding.

This Agreement is legally binding. If you have questions about any clause, contact your administrator at hello@laikanmedia.com before signing.

Section 01
Confidentiality & Information Security

All staff members are required to maintain strict confidentiality regarding the Company's business operations, client information, pricing structures, creative assets, and internal systems.

  • You must not share client data, project briefs, or commercial strategies with any third party without explicit written authorization.
  • Login credentials to the Staff Portal and internal systems must not be shared with any person, including other staff members.
  • Confidential obligations survive the end of your engagement with the Company for a period of 2 (two) years.
  • Breach of confidentiality may result in immediate termination and legal action under Nigerian law.
Section 02
Intellectual Property

All creative work, content, code, designs, strategies, videos, and other materials produced in the course of your engagement with Laikan Media remain the sole property of the Company.

  • You waive all moral rights to work created during your engagement.
  • Client-facing work may not be used in personal portfolios without prior written consent.
  • Any ideas, innovations, or tools developed using Company resources belong to Laikan Media.
  • Unauthorised use of the Laikan Media brand, logo, or name for personal gain is strictly prohibited.
Section 03
Professional Conduct

Laikan Media holds its team to the highest standards of professionalism. All staff are expected to:

  • Treat colleagues, clients, and partners with respect and dignity at all times.
  • Represent the Company's values in all public and professional interactions.
  • Complete assigned tasks and projects within agreed timelines.
  • Communicate openly and proactively about challenges or delays.
  • Refrain from any conduct that could harm the Company's reputation.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest, including working with direct competitors without written permission.
Section 04
Digital Systems & Access

Access to the Laikan Media Staff Portal and internal digital systems is a privilege, not a right.

  • You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.
  • You must report any suspected unauthorized access immediately to your department head.
  • The Company reserves the right to monitor system usage and audit access logs.
  • Upon termination, all access rights are immediately revoked. Any continued attempts to access systems is a criminal offence under Nigerian cybercrime law.
Section 05
Compensation & Payments

Compensation arrangements are outlined in your separate offer letter or contract. This Agreement does not constitute a guarantee of any specific compensation amount.

  • Payments are subject to timely submission of deliverables and task completions.
  • The Company is not liable for delays due to incomplete information provided by staff.
  • Any disputes regarding payment must be raised in writing within 7 days of the payment date.
Section 06
Termination

Either party may terminate this engagement with reasonable notice. The Company reserves the right to terminate immediately in cases of:

  • Gross misconduct or breach of any clause of this Agreement
  • Willful damage to Company property or reputation
  • Conviction of a criminal offence
  • Repeated failure to meet performance standards after written warnings

Upon termination, all Company materials, devices, and access must be returned or surrendered immediately.

Section 07
Social Media & Public Communication
  • Staff must not make public statements about the Company or its clients without authorization.
  • Tagging or posting about Company projects on personal accounts requires prior approval.
  • Any negative, defamatory, or misleading statements about Laikan Media on any platform is grounds for immediate termination.
  • You may not claim to represent Laikan Media in any official capacity without written authority.
Section 08
Governing Law & Disputes

This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising under this Agreement shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith mediation. If mediation fails, disputes shall be referred to arbitration under Nigerian law.

Acknowledgement & Acceptance

By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Staff Terms and Conditions in their entirety.
